The Ghost Squadron Presents "Middle Wallop"

Located on the Army Aircorps base at Middle Wallop in Hampshire this event is one not to be missed. Tugs available for any size gliders and flying from 10am both days till late. Access to the airfield is via the Museum of Army Flying carpark. Pilots are required to book in once on site and proof of insurance will be checked. Camping is available on the Museum carpark from the Friday with departures possible on the Monday if desirable. Questions/queries can be made to Pat Marsden or PM via the SSUK site

A friendly aerotow event in stunning countryside , at Kirkby Thore off the A66 in Cumbria. All sizes of glider and electric gliders welcome Tugs available to tow up to 7 mtr span on site toilet and overnight camping available close to club site.

The Ghost Squadron are pleased to announce the fly-in at Cheddar
The week long event will run from 3rd to 10th June inclusive and will follow the very successful laid back flying style format of previous years. The site is huge and suitable for all types of models. Toilets and a caravan toilet waste disposal point along with water will be available. Come for a day the weekend or all week and enjoy some relaxed flying. Tugs will be available for all sizes of gliders but all types of models are welcome
As in previous years the fly-in will be limited to 25 caravans / tents / motorhomes. Applications will be taken on a “first come first served” basis. Application forms will be available shortly by contacting John (number below)

Milson Airstrip Aerotow

Set in rural Shropshire, to the south of Clee Hill, Milson makes a great base for visiting Cleobury Mortimer, Ludlow and Tenbury Wells. There are many picturesque walks, and local hostelries.

3nm WSW of Cleobury Mortimer, 30nm west of Birmingham, the airstrip has a 450x12m grass runway 35/17, 500ft. amsl.There is a large windsock and a metal helipad to the east of the strip.

Chris and I have arranged the first Aerotow of the season at Milson for the dates set. (1st-3rd July 2016) Camping/caravanning welcome over the three days. Most of the flying will take place Saturday to Sunday but you are welcome to arrive Friday afternoon if you have a long way to travel. Milson is a lovely site and for the past few years a small group of friends have been flying here for 3 years or so now and this season have decided to make it a formal event. Look forward to seeing you all there.

Long Mynd, Church Stretton, Shropshire
This is a Fly-in rather than a formal competition, although there will be a pilot's vote for the best pilot/glider combination.
Camping for the whole weekend is available, with a BBQ on Friday evening and a meal at a local pub on the Saturday night.
Sport and scale flying is available, 'off the peg' on Friday and Saturday, but Sunday's Fly-in is specifically for scale gliders. (£3.00 entry fee)

TVSA Shrivenham

The TVSA are pleased to announce that we are planning on doing 2 weekends of aerotow at Sandhills Farm at Shrivenham near Swindon . The first on August 6th and 7th and September 24th and 25th.

More details will follow, but camping on site is available. Hopefully Friday evening arrival is fine but we need to confirm that.

As before, we will not have exclusive use of the field and tugs need to be on the ground each time a full size tug is departing or arriving, but with radio contact with the full size, this worked well last year.

The weekend of 13/14 August is the 2016 date for this ever popular Scale Bash. A very informal get together of scale gliders and pilots for a fun days flying. Prize money given for the Best Static, Best Flight & Best Landing.

Binham 2016

Back by popular demand and following the success of the meeting last August our hosts Andrew and Beverley Taylor have invited us back for another week of relaxed flying. Due to the very late bank holidayin 2015 this event is bieng held the week before the August Bank Holiday. The dates have been fixed as the 17th to 24th August inclusive. As with the previous event places will be strictly limited to the first 25 caravans, tents or motorhomes.
The format of the event will be exactly the same as previous years with the emphasis on laid back social flying. Please note that turbine models will not be acceptable due to the standing crops in adjoining fields.
Come for a day, the weekend or the whole week. Tugs will be available for all sizes of gliders but all types of models are welcome
